I’m currently writing a book, and I’d like to share a bit about how this journey began and where I hope it will lead. What started as a few text messages has grown into a full story – one that’s taken on a life of its own. Here, I’ll take you behind the scenes of my creative process, the inspirations and challenges, and the dreams I have for this book’s future.
Currently, my book is only available in German, but I’m already considering translating it someday to other languages. I do realize that my English skills might not quite capture the soul and essence of the story, and I’m unsure about relying on AI alone for such a big task. I’d be grateful for any advice, tips, or guidance on how to bring Meo’s world to readers in other countries. Meanwhile, I’m still focused on completing a final version of the first book. Spoiler alert: it looks like this will be the first of three books!

What is the book about?
In the wide plains of a village named Fjital, Meo grows up as a simple boy, his heart burning with a deep curiosity for the hidden magic of the world – until one day, mysterious dreams and dark prophecies call him to a journey that will seal his fate. Alongside his loyal friend Meija, a wise dragon Gorwin, and the mighty Pegasus-Phoenix Areandir, Meo dives deep into the world of spells and sorcery, even as a menacing shadow spreads across the land: the Gray Sorcerer Galla is building an army of darkness, poised to consume all light.
On a quest for the legendary power of the Light Vipers, Meo journeys to the unforgiving deserts of South Altasia, while his companions fight a fierce battle to save the last free cities. But even as the first rays of dawn drive back the shadows, one question remains: can Meo return in time to save his home and friends – or is their fate already sealed?
Thrilling battles, enchanted worlds, and a fight to keep hope alive against the darkness make this story an epic adventure that will keep readers on the edge of their seats.
My Adventure as a Writer: Creating Meo’s Story
It all began as a small, almost casual gesture – just a few short text messages to my best friend, little bits of encouragement, good-luck charms, and maybe even tiny tales of adventure. But did I think, back then, that this would one day become a book? Absolutely not. The story of Meo, a young apprentice captivated by magic, was initially just a hobby, a personal project. Yet, as so often happens when passion takes hold, those first little chapters slowly grew into a full-fledged book – a journey that’s not only become part of my life but has touched the lives of some of my closest people. Now, I’m ready to share that journey with all of you.
The Creative Process – From the First Word to the Last Page
For me, writing is more than just storytelling. It’s a journey filled with challenges, doubts, and yes, magical moments. One question I often get asked is whether I used AI to help write my book. The short answer is: sort of. While I rely 100% on my own imagination for the creative content, I have used tools like ChatGPT for text analysis – for example, to ensure the flow of the narrative or check if certain aspects of character development need fleshing out. But when it comes to the ideas themselves – the world, the adventures, and the magic that bring Meo’s story to life – writing remains something personal to me, something I could never entirely hand over to AI.
Inspirations and Milestones Along the Way
A key moment for me was when I gathered those first text message stories into a little book as a birthday gift for my best friend. Her surprise and excitement over this unexpected present made me realize that there might be something more to this story. Years later, when my son turned six and curiously asked if people could write their own books, I read him the first few chapters of Meo’s adventures. His excitement for the story reignited my motivation to continue, and since then, he’s been one of my biggest fans.
This story is also a community project in a way: my brother and I have spent countless hours over tea, brainstorming and bouncing ideas off each other, shaping the depth and meaning behind Meo’s journey. Without the support of my wife, who’s stood by my side with patience and love, and without those nights where she let me type away on my laptop next to her, this project would never have grown the way it has.
A Life of Magic – and Who This Book is For
Meo’s story is for anyone who believes in magic. Not the kind that lives in wands but the magic of life itself, the kind we feel when we follow our hearts. For me, Meo’s journey and the characters he meets along the way hold countless messages that emerge as I write, almost as if on their own. The world in my story has no simple black-and-white, no obvious heroes and villains. Even those who do terrible things have fates that have led them down those paths – Tyr, the main antagonist in this tale, is ultimately a being of love, shaped by destiny and loss.
And Meo’s world, too, holds this kind of magic. Sometimes it’s just a tiny spark, but for those who believe, that spark can be a light that reveals new paths and possibilities. Just as Meo himself says, “If you truly wish for it with all your heart, it can come true.”
Looking Ahead – And How You Can Be Part of It
Meo’s story is just the beginning. The book I’m working on now is the first of at least three planned volumes, and I’m excited to continue on this journey. Along the way, I’ll keep sharing my writing process with you. Right now, I’m having parts of the book recorded as an audiobook to gather as much feedback as possible and make Meo’s world accessible in new ways. If you’re curious to learn more about Meo’s world, his adventures, and the many wonderful characters in this tale, you’re invited to join me on this journey.
Writing this book has shown me that dreams can grow, even if they start as a few casual texts. If Meo’s story can transport you to a world of magic, then this journey has already been worth it.
If you’re interested in reading the book, please let me know. In the meantime, here are a few chapters as an audiobook for you to experience: enjoy the Prologue and Chapter 1, Fjital.

Here are a few impressions, auto-generated using ElevenLabs’ dubbing functionality. While the original has much more soul, the dubbing feature has stretched and cut the audio to match the German timing, and at times, there are pauses where the English translation is shorter than the original German. This can occasionally feel a bit awkward or even eerie. Still, it’s better than nothing! So here’s a glimpse of the English AI translation:
